The Valley Weekly Recap: Jax Returns and Gets Served; The Surpise of A Lifetime

This week on The Valley, Jax returned from his stint in rehab and caught up on the drama in the group. He gets served with divorce papers by Brittany, who wants full custody of Cruz. Meanwhile, Luke is planning a group trip to Maui to propose to Kristen.

Drinking isn’t My Problem

After being released from rehab, Jax gets dinner with the guys, minus Zack. Jason and Danny are still on bad terms, but they try to put their drama aside for the night. The guys inform Jax of all the drama that’s transpired since he was in rehab, and he’s glad to briefly have the focus away from him.

The conversation eventually turns around. Jax shows some growth by not getting an alcoholic beverage, but informs the guys he doesn’t think drinking is his problem; it’s anger and rage, and he doesn’t plan to fully give up drinking. The guys, especially Jason, are skeptical and worry that drinking will only make his problems worse.

Welcome to L.A., Benji!

Jasmine hosts a surprise party to celebrate Zack’s boyfriend Benji being able to stay in the country. The party almost goes off without a hitch, but the surprise is foiled when the group forgets to put the party signs away. Meanwhile, everyone tries to resolve their issues, but it ultimately leads to more drama.

Deny, Deny, Deny

Jason and Janet are still feuding with Danny and Nia over their issues with Danny’s drinking. Janet doubles down on her allegations, and it’s clear that from her perspective, she has done nothing wrong. Nia tries to explain her point of view, but Janet unsurprisingly doesn’t want to hear it and walks away.

A Surprise Guest

The party is graced by the presence of a not-so-unexpected guest – Jax. He mingles with a couple of members of the group and is still abstaining from drinking. Jax and Brittany don’t interact at all throughout the party, thanks to Zack’s efforts to protect Brittany when Jax tries to talk to her and she isn’t ready.

A Vacation to Remember

Luke is finalizing his plans to propose to Kristen by organizing a trip to Maui. For better or worse, the whole group is invited. The vacation is being planned under the guise that it’s Danny and Nia’s trip, to keep Kristen from getting suspicious.

You’ve Been Served

At the end of this week’s episode, Jax gets served with divorce papers filed by Brittany. The papers also inform Jax that Brittany plans on getting full legal custody of Cruz. Jax takes the news surprisingly well.

“I don’t know what full legal custody means”, Jax admits in a confessional.

Jax receives the news with support from his new neighbor and longtime friend, Tom Schwartz.

“You no longer bring out the best in each other. In your instance, you might bring out the worst”, Tom says to Jax about the current status of his and Brittany’s relationship.

It seems Jax learned, at least a little, from the rehab facility. Instead of losing his temper, he acknowledges his actions that led to the divorce, at least partially.

“I was a f***ing terrible husband. Good father. I’m a great father. Terrible husband”, Jax said.

“Yeah”, Tom agrees.

To make matters worse, the divorce goes public shortly after Jax is served.

“If I didn’t have people, I would not be in a good place”, Jax says, expressing his appreciation for Tom.

Reflecting on his and Brittany’s relationship, Jax says in a confessional, “It’s safe to say that these are no longer the best days of our lives”, alluding to his time on Vanderpump Rules where his relationship began.
