It is always a great feeling when you start a new show that has an amazing first season. It is a terrible feeling when you find out the next season of this incredible show is nowhere in sight. Major Delay News
Season 2 of All of Us are Dead was officially announced in June 2022. Unfortunately, recent news has confirmed that the season is being delayed and there is no current release date in sight. In the past, the makers of the show revealed that production for Season Two began in 2024 and the season would be released in 2025. Now, fans will have even longer than expected once again before finding out what’s next in this zombie apocalyptic world. But why do fans have to wait so long for their zombie fix? It is believed that extended wait is due to production challenges. Star News reported that production had been postponed to 2025 to ensure the best quality meaning Season Two won’t premiere until 2026. So with All of Us are Dead no longer on Netflix’s 2025 show lineup, fans will have to wait until 2026… hopefully.
What is All of Us are Dead?
All of Us are Dead is a Korean drama (K-drama) that blends a coming-of-age story with a high school-set zombie outbreak. This South Korean horror series is a Netflix original that premiered in January 2022. The series centers around a group of high school students that live in a fictional South Korean city of Hyosan, and their struggle to survive amidst a zombie outbreak. The show stars Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, Yoo In-soo, Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Byung-chul, Lee Kyu-hyung, and Jeon Bae-soo. This thriller series is based on the webtoon of the same name. All of Us are Dead became a successful hit with its season one debut, but is now unfortunately on the verge of setting a disappointing record.
Set to Break a Frustrating Record
With this new delay, All of Us are Dead is on track to set a new record for longest wait between seasons of a Netflix’s original series. With season one premiering in January 2022 and season two now said to not air until 2026, this marks Netflix’s popular Korean thriller series going on a four-year hiatus. This prolonged gap surpasses the hiatus of other popular Netflix shows like Squid Game, Stranger Things, Sweet Home, and Blood of Zeus. Squid Game and Sweet Home had a three-year break between their first and second seasons. The gap between Stranger Things seasons three and four was nearly three years. And Netflix’s Blood of Zeus took almost four years to return, with season one debuting in October 2020 and season two debuting in May 2024.
Currently, there is no confirmed release date for All of Us are Dead season two, but hopefully fans won’t have to wait much longer for the carnage to continue. Season one is currently streaming on Netflix and season two is reported to premiere in 2026.
