The Valley Season Two Reunion: Part One Recap

On part one of the three-part season two reunion of Bravo’s The Valley, the first reunion for the series, the group sat down with Andy Cohen to discuss everything that happened this season. It feels like just yesterday we were recapping the season two premiere, and here are at part one of the reunion! This week mainly focused on Jax and Brittany’s and Jesse and Michelle’s divorces. Also, Kristen and Nia were pregnant at the time of filming, and Jasmine announced she and Melissa are engaged.

Two Bundles of Joy!

Besties Kristen and Nia were pregnant twins at the reunion, at 33 and 34 weeks respectively. Both had their supportive partners by their side, but it must be nice to share the experience with your best friend who’s been down the pregnancy road before, especially considering Kristen’s fertility struggles that she was open about throughout the season. While the season was airing, both women gave birth to daughters in June: Kaia Lily Broderick, and Adelaide Booko. First-time parents Kristen and Luke will have their best friends Danny and Nia to look to for support, who are now raising four under four. It’s safe to say both couples have their hands full!

Jasmine Put a Ring On It

Jasmine revealed at the reunion that she and her girlfriend Melissa are engaged at part one of the reunion. They previously announced their engagement back in November, and filming had already wrapped. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as they were consistently portrayed as a happy and healthy couple throughout the season. Jasmine revealed they plan to tie the knot next summer, and it’s safe to assume the cameras will be there capturing every moment.

Tit for Tat

It seems what little progress Jesse and Michelle in the finale was short-lived. Their divorce hasn’t been finalized yet, and it appears that it all comes to the bottom line: money. Or, lack of it. Jesse claimed that every matter in their divorce has been “tit for tat” Michelle claimed that Jesse spent all of their money and is now broke. Jesse denies the allegations, but Michelle claps back, “Who’s paying your rent?” Considering Michelle has a lawyer and Jesse is representing himself, with no law license, it’s too soon to completely rule out Michelle’s claims, and it’s impossible to know what goes on behind closed doors.

Clean and Sober?

As usual, Jax and Brittany’s divorce was the main topic of conversation at part one of the reunion. Brittany recounts the trauma Jax put her through during their relationship, claiming he made fun of her weight gain after she gave birth and called her “tree trunk.” She says he made her “lose her sparkle” to which Jax whispers, in an annoyed voice, “God, the f***ing sparkle.”

Brittany also informs everyone that she has full custody of Cruz, and Jax is allowed to see him on specific days and only if he’s passing his regular drug tests. They are living in the house while Jax is in a condo to give stability to Cruz, who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD) this year. However, Brittany revealed that her and Cruz were initially moving Airbnb to Airbnb, due to Jax’s refusal to leave the house.

Jax claims things started getting bad for after he was fired from Vanderpump Rules, and in turn, his marriage. At the same time, COVID had started, followed by Brittany’s pregnancy. With no money coming in from Jax, he became resentful towards her for being the sole breadwinner.

At the end of the reunion, Brittany shares that she still has doubts about Jax’s sobriety, specifically questioning if he is on steroids, and if it’s making his anger worse. Jax immediately denies the allegations and encourages Brittany to continue drug testing him.

Jax says at the conclusion of part one of the reunion, “In my head if I ever try to slip again, I know you’re going to test me anytime you want. And I want you to test me, not just for you but for me. I don’t want to touch drugs and alcohol again, it’s fucked up my life.”
