This week on Bravo’s The Valley, the group headed to Santa Barbara for what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. Of course, the drama follows this friend group wherever they go. Michelle and Jesse could barely stand to be around each other, while Jax managed to ruin Brittany’s fun without even being there.
A Rough Start
The group started off the trip with a visit to a race track. Jax was blowing up Brittany’s phone from rehab, and she wondered how he even heard about the trip. “I told Jax we were going to Santa Barbara. I talk to him every day”, Jesse tells Brittany”.
Brittany nearly breaks down due to Jax’s actions, and Zack is there to support her. “If he doesn’t get help now then he’s just going to keep spiraling, and that scares me,” Brittany says in a confessional”.
Meanwhile, Janet and Jesse get into a heated argument over Jesse’s ex-girlfriend’s actions, as she threatened to sue Michelle a few weeks prior.
“Why are you defending this girl that you’re not even with anymore against the mother of your child”, Janet questions Jesse.
Jesse responds in a hostile manner “Don’t f***ing manipulate this situation right now”.
He continues, “Stop trying to play a f***ing game with me. You’re not suited for this game.”
Janet responds that his ex was taking it too far by threatening legal action and shouldn’t have threatened Michelle.
“Your friend shouldn’t have been cheating on me for two years but she did”, Jesse responded.
Janet clapped back “Honestly if I was married to you, I would be cheating on you too”.
Moving Forward
The entire group went on the trip to Santa Barbara except Jax, who’s still in rehab. This marked the first time this season that Janet and Zack were in the same place together. After having a conversation and agreeing to move forward, they somehow managed to keep the peace.
Before their conversation, Janet says in a confessional, “I hope Zack puts his guard down and realizes the things he said are really serious and hurtful”.
Zack confessed to Janet, holding back tears, “You just dropped me and all of a sudden there was no friendship there”.
Further in their conversation, Janet also lets her guard down and tells Zack how deeply he hurt her. “If your goal was to cut me that night, you won”, she confessed.
However, Zack felt hurt that Brittany revealed to Janet what he said in confidence in a blacked-out state of mind. He says in a confessional, “That night at the bar opening, I absolutely said stuff that I should not have said. But here’s the thing. I was blacked out and was having a private conversation with my best friend. This is basically a concrete example of how Brittany has actively taken Janet’s side. And, I kind of see that as a betrayal”.
Baby Blues
Kristen and Luke have been trying for a while to get pregnant and even hoped to conceive during the trip. She’s been tracking her ovulations but realized she was off by a day.
“It’s really disheartening, it’s frustrating, it’s annoying. I mean, it feels like a failure because I am trying everything to be a mom, and it feels like I can’t catch a break”.
“I wish there was a way I could get Kristen out of her head right now It’s difficult to see her beat herself up”, Luke says in a confessional.
Luke has a more positive view of the situation than Kristen. “Even if this isn’t our month, next month could be or the next one. We will have our baby, it’s not up to us, it’s God’s plan”.
Kumbaya?
Kristen hired a spiritual guide, Willa, to help mend fences in the group during the trip. She jokes in a confessional, “We all know that Willa is not going to be able to heal every part of this group. Not even Jesus Christ can do that. But I think she can put a metaphorical band-aid on it for the night. A really, really big band-aid”.
The group passes around a gratitude ball. Jesse says he is grateful that Isabella is thriving, and passes the ball to Michelle, who won’t look at him and tries not to cry.
“Zack, don’t roll your eyes with Michelle the way you did with me”, Jesse threatens to Zack after noticing Zack’s reaction to his speech.
Zack doubles down, “I didn’t roll it with her, it was with you”.
Jesse says to Jason, “I will go over there and f***ing bury that guy off a cliff”.
Michelle shares in a confessional, “It’s hard to think of a good memory when somebody has hurt you so much. This divorce has been very nasty, and I’ve really got to see his true colors”.
After some thought, Michelle shares what she is grateful for.
“A great moment was when we were deciding to have a child together”, Michelle says.
Jesse begins to cry and walks away. Jason follows him, but Jesse isn’t in the mood to talk.
Jesse says to Jason, “I am f***ing done. F** this shit. Get the f** out”.
