‘The Valley’ Weekly Recap: Wasted at the Winery; Danny’s Drinking Escalates

On this week’s episode of Bravo’s The Valley, the group continued their trip to Santa Barbara with a visit to a winery. The drama between Michelle and Jesse hit a boiling point. Danny had a little too much to drink at the winery, and Brittany got fed up with her marriage being the main source of drama.

The episode picked up where last week left off, after Jesse stormed away from the group due to a breakdown over his drama with Michelle. He assures everyone that he’s fine, only to be sparing with her again shortly after at the winery. Meanwhile, Brittany finds out from Jax that he’s been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Wild Day at the Winery

The day trip to the winery started with some positive vibes. Danny meets the group there after returning from his acting gig and is ready for a good time. Janet and Zack are still on good terms, and they laugh about her calling his hair fake before making amends.

Zack jokes in a confessional: “Maybe I can be friends with Janet again. Maybe the world is ending. Maybe the apocalypse is here”.

Zack wasn’t going to let anyone ruin his fun and wasted no time at the winery.

“I don’t need to swirl… sniff… play with my wine. I’m just going to drink it. Like an adult”, Zack said in a confessional.

Of course, Michelle and Jesse couldn’t let things stay peaceful for too long. The drama with them came to head when they have what was supposed to be a private conversation. Jesse asks Michelle if she is happy, and she responds “I am very happy, besides you”.

Michelle vents about Jesse in a confessional, “Being selfish, that is who he truly is to his core”.

The conversation escalates, and Michelle tells Jesse “Look at you, you’re a disaster”.

Jesse claps back, responding, “And you’re a hooker”.

Michelle crashes out, screaming at Jesse “You can’t do that to me! I am the mother of your f***ing child!”

In a confessional, Michelle says “If anyone should be an escort, it’s him because he’s the one who’s broke”.

Michelle turns the tables on Jesse, questioning, “Why is a gay guy sending you money”.

In a confessional, Zack jokes, “Girl, we don’t want him. Don’t try to give him to us.”

Brittany scolds Jesse for doubling down on the hooker allegations and warns him that he needs to drop it.

Jesse changes his tune, “Of course, it’s a lie. I’m a f***ing a**hole for even saying that”.

However, in a confessional, Jesse is a little less apologetic.

“I never said it was true, so it’s not slander”, Jesse says in a confessional.

Round Two

Back at the house in Santa Barbara, Jesse and Michelle have another conversation that goes nowhere. Jesse confronts Michelle about her alleged cheating, and doubles down on his belief that she started cheating over two years ago.

Michelle defends herself in a confessional, arguing “That’s not even possible. I took care of our child, while he was the one always out”.

Jesse states in a confessional, “Michelle cheated on me then gave up on our marriage after she cheated”.

During a heated argument, Jesse tells Michelle, “You’re the only lying cheating whore that I know”.

In a fit of rage, Michelle throws water in his face.

“What do I have to do to make you stop?”, Michelle screams. Jesse responds that he wants her to admit to “everything.”

Michelle responds, “Everyone, my husband refused to hug me, and kiss me, and tell me I’m pretty. My husband spent all of our money”.

Dark Side Danny

Danny missed all of Michelle and Jesse’s drama back at the house, since he was in a drunken sleep after getting wasted at the winery, but Nia tells the group he’s just tired from working and parenting. Most of the gang is worried about his drinking due to his usual lack of self control, and Janet claims she saw him sneaking shots of tequila in the pantry. Danny sleeps through dinner, and when Nia goes to check on him with Michelle, they reveal their true feelings on the situation.

“I know Nia comes from the pageant world and everything is button up and perfect, and I think right now she’s trying to give us that Miss USA answer like ‘You know, he’s taking a nap ‘but really it’s like girl we know what’s happening here”, Jasmine vents in a confessional.

Brittany has had enough of their secrecy and resents being the main source of drama on the show.

“I have to share my entire life and everything I’m going through but nobody else does? That’s funny”, Brittany tells the group.

Brittany vents in a confessional “I’ve noticed them not being genuine all day”.

Brittany continues “I saw Nia calling him on the phone yelling at him on the bus, and then we’re in uber and they’re fighting in the backseat, and then we get to dinner, and she’s saying that he’s just tired from his job”.

“You guys can be Mr. and Mrs. Perfect 24/7 but my relationship is out in the open for everybody to comment over? It’s just not fair”, Brittany concluded.

Kristen, who has a close friendship with Nia, isn’t about the drama.

“I just feel like people get their tits in a twist over the smallest, stupidest things. Maybe Danny’s a little drunk. Who cares? Did they even bring it up while Nia was still sitting at the table? No. They waited until she left so they had an opportunity to run their mouths, and get each other all amped up. Boring,” Kristen said in a confessional.

Jasmine sharply responds, “We all know dark side Danny”.

Zack lets Nia in on what’s going on, exposing two of his closest friends in the process.

“Brittany and Jasmine, they’re not saying the things to her face, which I don’t think is cool. Especially when Brittany felt the need to tell Janet that I was talking about her behind her back”, Zack said in a confessional.

Nia responds “Just because your life is burning doesn’t mean you need to be like, ‘I would like your life to burn to,” referring to Brittany.

Zack invites Nia to his room, and they listen behind the door before interrupting.

Nia and Brittany start arguing, and Brittany vents “I’m going through so much”.

Nia responds “So you have to attack me because you’re going through so much”?

Jesse jokes “Michelle and I are the most sane people in this whole house right now”, and the episode ends on a cliffhanger.

New episodes of The Valley air Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and stream the next day on Peacock.
