From the John Wick Universe comes Ballerina, a film that mainly focuses on Eve Maccaro, played by Ana De Armas, whose father was fatally wounded while defending her from a cult and their leader.
Many years later, Eve is training as a ballerina, while also training as an assassin under the Ruska Roma. While training she met John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, asking for advice and he advises her to steer out of a violent path.
Eve starts off with a task of helping and protecting an heiress. After being attacked by a cult, she notices these markings on their wrists similar to the people who had attacked her father many years ago. She heads to Prague to find Daniel Pine, played by Norman Reedus, and asks him about the cult. The cult attacks them and takes Pine’s daughter.
Eve heads to Hallstatt, Austria to find Pine’s daughter Ella and is attacked by the entire town that happens to be in the cult. When she meets the Chancellor, he finds out that she was the girl from the night her father was killed. It is also revealed that her sister Lena is a part of the cult. The Chancellor ordered for to be killed, but Eve survived.
The Chancellor made a call to the director that was in charge of Eve, and John Wick is sent to kill Eve. Wick finds Eve and defeats her in a fight, but Wick is trying to persuade her to leave instead of killing her. Wick gave her until midnight to kill the Chancellor, otherwise he would have to kill her.
Eve ultimately kills most of the town and ends up finding and Chancellor and shooting him in the head, she rescues Ella, and later on is reunited with her father. While watching a ballerina show, a bounty is set for Eve, leaves the theater upon learning the information.
The film ultimately follows the rhythm of all the John Wick Films which includes more fighting scenes than dialogue. It all came with a surprise as many viewers were skeptical of the movie being good as people are used to Keanu Reeves as the main star.
