The Memphis Grizzlies made a major trade when they traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Cole Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and four-round picks .
Bane, from Richmond, Indiana and a standout at TCU, averaged 19 points a game in his final season with the Grizzlies. Bane averaged 15 points a game in the first round of the playoffs against the Champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
Bane will have himself to play with an upcoming team in the Orlando Magic. The Magic have a lot of upsides with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner who have led the team to the playoffs back-to-back seasons.
The main purpose of bringing in Desmond Bane is to build a championship squad by pairing him with their other star players to be contenders. The Magic have not won a championship in their franchise history losing in the finals in 1995 and in 2009.
The city of Orlando is known for its Magic as it is home of Disney World and many other theme parks. The Magic are looking for a chance to bring home gold to add to its magical element to the city.
