Hotel Supetar reopens following a complete refurbishment between the ancient tiny town of Cavtat, Croatia, and the Adriatic Sea. After Croatian designers STUDIO LACROMA and Katarina Alamat Kusijanovic collaborated to rebuild and adapt the property into something new, the hotel reemerges as a boutique hideaway.
Hotel Supetar is housed in a three-story private home from the 1920s and features 16 spacious and individually furnished rooms with Mediterranean characteristics. Stylish furnishings, sophisticated fabrics celebrating the area’s history and the hotel’s modernism, and bursts of wallpaper bring character to each room. The accommodations have garden or sea views and are only a few steps from from the waterfront promenade. Bathrooms include marble embellishments and gold accents.
The on-site restaurant combines authentic specialties and classic cuisine. The menu emphasises sea products, seasonal specialties, and local fresh foods, such as oranges from the hotel’s garden. Swordfish carpaccio marinated in a lime and orange emulsion; vegetable cream soup with poached shrimp tail, dark bread croutons, and olive oil; and “Maturo” beef fillet aged 24 days, served with blinis of Konavle potatoes, glazed carrot and asparagus, demi-glace sauce, and truffle slices are among the menu highlights. Local cream caramel and flan are among the desserts.
Breakfast, lunch, and supper are served indoors with views of the poolside oasis from the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows or on the romantic alfresco patio. The new Wine Bar at Hotel Supetar is also open to wine enthusiasts. The bar blends comfy loungers and contemporary seating with a modern, emerald-tiled bar and serves a variety of the finest local and worldwide wines. The wine list features the best Croatian wines, with a focus on Dubrovacka Malvasija, a local white wine grape from the adjacent Konavle region. Croatian wine tastings are also available at the Wine Bar.
Hotel Supetar invites guests to its garden and new light-flooded infinity edge pool, in addition to remodelled rooms, a redesigned restaurant, and a new Wine Bar. The pool is surrounded by wicker chair sets and citrus trees, giving guests the feeling of being gods and goddesses under the Croatian sun.
